CAMP ALCHEMY! August 1st, 2009
Alchemy Winterguard is offering a day long summer camp for students and teachers on August 1st, details below.
This camp will give your students the opportunity to spin and dance with other performers from different high schools and different independent colorguards. It will give the students a chance to learn and sharpen their techniques on dance, flag, rifle, and sabre. We will focus on the individual while teaching new basic routines and some choreography, "Alchemy style". Not too worry, we will stay true to how your students spin, throw, and catch. They will just learn more ideas and strengths to help them along their CG journey. We will divide performers into Beginner to Advanced groups, so that we can challenge each individual. Everyone will be stimulated and psyched, and they can take these skills back with them to their respective programs, just in time for band camp!
- Camp Registration begins at 8am , Pre-registration is available by email
- First Session begins at 9am
- Lunch is provided
- Sessions include: Ensemble Stretch and Body Basics, Movement Across the floor, Ensemble Flag Block, Beginning Flag and Rifle, Int.-Adv. Sabre, Intermediate to Advanced Flag and Rifle, Tricks and Tosses, Choreography on Dance, Flag, Rifle, and Sabre
- Instructor session: A round table discussion on Design and Team Management. Morning and Afternoon Sessions. We can incorporate and discuss winter and/or fall seasons. Bring sketches and Music if you want for input.
- Camp Ends at 6pm
- Participation fee is $10 per person
- Video of Camp will be placed online for Participants to review
Camp Alchemy will be at the Arvada Covenant Church in the Family Life Center (some parts may be outside as well)
